Bio
Raised in the entertainment capital of the world, Julian Ho was immersed in the collective sounds of hip hop, rock, and funk from an early age. Wanting to hone his craft further, Julian enrolled in Musicians Institute and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Drum Performance.
While at MI, he won two Downbeat Magazine Student Awards for Best Blues, Pop, Rock Performance for his work with his original funk
band, Prussia and an Outstanding Student Award.
Upon graduating, Julian worked with Musicians Institute’s International Outreach department teaching drum clinics and master classes in South Korea, Thailand, China and Taiwan.

numerous Chinese pop artists including Leah Dou, Aga, Justin Lo, Jinny Ing, Linda Chung, Francis Yip, Shirley Kwan, Huang Pin Yuan, Vincy Chan, Priscilla Chan, Angela Hui, Myolie Wu, Nancy Wu, Selena Lee, Elaine Yiu, Mandy Wong, Della Ding Dang, Andy Hui, Chris Wong and many more. Recently, Julian contributed drums to the Grammy Nominated project Star Wars Outlaws: Songs From the Underworld.
Julian has played notable venues and festivals such as the Joe Bonamassa’s “Keeping the Blues Alive” cruise, Lollapalooza in Brazil, the Baked Potato, The Pasadena Civic Center, The Masonic, Spotify’s private venue in Los Angeles, the Yaamava Theater, Calgary Blues Festival, Los Angeles City Hall and more. He has played internationally in South Korea, Japan, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Canada, Belize, Mexico, Brazil and all around the United States.
In addition to performing, Julian is a part of the drum faculty of Musicians Institute and has recorded educational drum tracks for Pickup Music and TrueFire. Julian is also a producer, having released his first single, “Way Up” featuring Sierra Sellers and the single “It Ain’t No Use” featuring Pedro Cordeiro by his Los Angeles based collective project Shakey City Sound.
